ruu mattos-tance (she/her), also going by thankruu, is a multi-talented singer, dancer, actress, songwriter, dancer and more. within her art, she values and presents passion, fluidity, love, justice and most of all joy.

ruu is an SF native, with awards from June Jordan School for Equity, some of which include winning 1st place in multiple talent shows, 2nd place in Black Excellence performances and even making the Dean’s List.

She’s heavily inspired by Kehlani & Erykah Badu, and her ultimate dream is to become a known artist, to impact people’s lives across generations and to be ineffable.

I founded Rhizomatic Arts to provide affordable professional consulting, training, and services to independent creatives and small companies. Rhizomatic Arts takes a holistic approach to creative sustainability, supporting the cultural eco-system on a grassroots, person-to-person level, empowering artists to take charge of their own careers within a supportive network of peers. Our Sustainability Network connects creatives with skills and resources to share, via a mutually-supportive gift economy. Our motto: "work independently, not alone."
